Circle of Carlo Ceresa (S.Giovanni Bianco, 1609-Bergamo, 1679) "Portrait of Bartolomeo Pesenti" Oil on canvas cm 130 x 95 The painting represents an important testimony, from a historical and iconographic point of view, regarding the figure of Bartolomeo Pesenti, from Verona, belonging to a family originally from Bergamo, who was a founder of weapons and bells in the 17th century. The largest bell, located in the civic tower of Bergamo, is the work of Pesenti who created it in 1655. It is also possible to find a bell by Pesenti in the Church of Sant'Anastasia in Verona. In our portrait it is possible to decipher the inscription contained in the letter that can be seen in the lower right. "To the Most Illustrious Bartolomeo Pesenti, founder in contrà de ..... Venice"
