Extraordinary Venice chest of drawers XVIII century
Period: First half of the 18th century
Extraordinary three-drawer chest characterized by the shape of the structure, which is rounded on the front and sides. Slab in olive briar, curved supports bearing lateral scrapes ending with curl motifs at the two ends. Lower cornice made with the use of head woods and featuring a triple scratching motif. Shaped top delimited below by band and in the upper part by motif called owl beak. Excellent proof of Venetian cabinet-making that fully expresses the concept of a baroque. Venice, sec.
